Plane Attracts National Attention
Ben Rosenberg, a 14-year-old freshman at Hilton Head High
School, attracted national attention when he designed a paper
airplane propelled by a laser beam. Rosenbergs high-tech
aircraft earned him a medal from Michael Mathis, a rear admiral
with the U.S. Navy. The science wiz aspires to attend the
Governor's School for Math and Science and eventually work
in a physics related field or design toys.
Artists Show Their Stuff
The following Michael C. Riley Elementary School students
had artwork chosen to be displayed at the Crayola Dream-Makers
Art Exhibit in the Walter Greer Gallery at the Arts Center
of Coastal Carolina: Wesley Donison, Ashley Mendez, Bethany
Clayton, Melia Forton, Morganne Parker, Sally Bartholomew,
Rodrigo Canada, Charly Tatro, German Ruiz,
Sarah Barrero, Janice Pferschy and Jack Burton.
Area Realtors Seal the Deal
Seventy local Realtors were recently awarded the Presidents
Distinguished Honor Roll Award for 2002 from the Hilton Head
Area Association of Realtors. Awards were presented to the
recipients at the monthly Realtors luncheon Feb. 11 by Randy
Smith, past president of the Realtors association. In
order to qualify, Realtors contributed their time and efforts
in various ways and participated in mandatory continuing education
and professional development to improve their ability to serve
the consumer in a real estate transaction. And all of them
were involved in civic or religious efforts, participating
through volunteer work or monetarily.
